Ouddorp Connection

At Ouddorp Connection, we believe that running a business also means taking responsibility for the world around us. For years, our team has been involved in different initiatives that support both the environment and our local community.

We are proud to share some of the actions we are currently supporting and developing, always with one goal in mind: to preserve the beauty of Ouddorp and its surroundings for generations to come.

Protecting the Punt West Nature Reserve

At Punt West, we are fully aware of how unique and fragile this natural area is and how important it is to protect it. That is why the villas were designed with sustainability in mind, blending into the landscape and built with respect for the environment.

Everyday operations are also guided by this commitment: our housekeeping team works carefully to minimize waste, prevent pollution, and ensure that no harm is caused to the surrounding dunes, waters, and wildlife.

Our mission is to make sure that tourism and the natural environment coexist in harmony, so that future generations can enjoy the beauty of Punt West just as it is today.

Seal Sponsorship with A Seal

The Ouddorp coast is not only special for people, but also for its most endearing residents: the seals. Many of them face challenges at an early age, often found sick, injured, or separated from their mothers. That is why we proudly support the [A Seal] rescue center, an organization dedicated to caring for these animals and giving them a second chance at life in the wild. As part of our collaboration, we sponsored a baby seal and contributed to her recovery journey. Under the care of the A Seal team, she received the attention, food, and medical treatment needed until she was strong enough to return to the sea. Together with our team, we had the privilege of witnessing her release back into her natural habitat — a deeply moving experience that reminded us how important it is to protect the wildlife that shares this coast with us. For us, supporting initiatives like this is a way of giving back to nature and ensuring that future generations will continue to encounter seals along our shores.

Sustainable Offices with Correctbook

Our commitment to sustainability also extends to the way we work every day. In our offices, we have chosen to replace traditional paper notebooks with Correctbook, an innovative reusable and erasable notebook. This simple switch drastically reduces the amount of paper waste we generate, helping us to lower our environmental footprint in a very practical way.

But Correctbook is more than just a sustainable office tool — it is also a social project. For every notebook purchased, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to educational initiatives in developing countries, providing children with access to school materials and the chance to learn. This means that while we take notes in our daily meetings, somewhere in the world a child is being given the tools to build a better future. For us, it’s a reminder that even the smallest changes in how we work can have a double impact: protecting the environment and supporting education at the same time.

Supporting KNRM Veere – Saving Lives at Sea

The sea is at the heart of life in Ouddorp, and with it comes the responsibility of keeping people safe when they are out on the water. That is why we proudly support the KNRM Veere (Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution), a foundation that has been saving lives along the Dutch coast for more than 200 years.

Our involvement goes beyond financial sponsorship. Several members of our team — and even their families — actively volunteer with KNRM, taking part in rescue operations, training exercises, and awareness campaigns. Their dedication is a true example of community spirit and solidarity.

We are proud to stand behind KNRM and to contribute to their mission of offering free, voluntary rescue services at sea. Supporting this organization reflects our deep connection to the sea and our belief that together, as a community, we can make a difference.
